Founder & Executive Director of Beyond the Struggle
Mark Starcevic is a husband, father, business owner, speaker, and person in long-term recovery.
After experiencing addiction and incarceration, Mark rebuilt his life through faith, accountability, family, and service. With more than 20 years clean, he founded Beyond the Struggle to show others that recovery is possible and that our past does not have to determine our future.
Today, Mark uses his lived experience to reach people through honest testimony, recovery outreach, community events, podcast interviews, and messages of faith, hope, and purpose.

There was a time when addiction and destructive choices controlled Mark’s life. Those choices led to incarceration many times, broken relationships, and pain for both him and the people who loved him.
Prison could have been the final chapter of his story—but it became part of the turning point. Through faith, accountability, recovery, and the support of others, Mark began rebuilding his life one decision at a time.
More than 20 years later, Mark uses the very past that once brought shame and struggle to bring hope to others. Beyond the Struggle was built on a simple truth: no life is beyond redemption, and no struggle has to be the end of the story.

Recovery gave Mark more than sobriety—it gave him the opportunity to rebuild his life, restore relationships, and become fully present for the people he loves.
His faith in God and his love for family remain the foundation of everything he does. They are a daily reminder of how far he has come and why he continues moving forward.
That gratitude now fuels a life of service. Through Beyond the Struggle, Mark works to help others find the same hope, healing, and sense of purpose that changed his own life.

Bring a message of faith, recovery, accountability, and hope to your community, school, church, organization, or event.
